A Champagne Legacy Since 1967.

.

Founded by Gilbert Gruet in 1967, the Union Vinicole des Coteaux de Bethon was born from an ambitious vision: to bring together producers and unite their strengths. With its comprehensive facilities (presses, winery, cellar), the cooperative handles every step of production, from pressing to vinification, enabling it to develop rapidly. Today, it continues the Champagne legacy by creating refined cuvées under the Champagne G. Gruet & Fils brand, in tribute to its founder.

A Philosophy: Honoring Life, Terroir, and Craftsmanship

Located in Bethon, a village in the heart of the Sézanne hills in the Marne, Champagne G. GRUET & Fils celebrates an exceptional terroir, driven by chalky soils that elevate Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of the estate (80%). This unique terroir offers the grapes perfect maturity, thanks to natural drainage and its ability to retain warmth, giving the champagne a brilliant freshness and mineral elegance.

Deeply committed to respecting the land that sustains them, Champagne G. Gruet & Fils and its associated growers are dedicated to continuously improving their agricultural practices. The growers are supported in their transition to more sustainable viticulture. Proud ambassadors of their region, the champagne of G. GRUET & Fils reflect the uniqueness and richness of the territory, elevated by the passionate work of its winegrowers.

A cooperative model

Thanks to its cooperative model, the house benefits from ultra-local sourcing, centered around the distinctive terroir of Bethon. This proximity strengthens the connection with the region and ensures the freshness and optimal quality of the grapes. By uniting a variety of plots and expertise, it preserves a rich viticultural heritage, resulting in balanced, subtle, and singular cuvées that are both rooted and authentic.

At the heart of this union of producers, human connection and collective spirit are central to the philosophy of Champagne G. GRUET & Fils. Each bottle produced is more than just an exceptional wine: it is the reflection of teamwork, shared passion, and a deep connection with the terroir. Mastering every step of production, from grape pressing to vinification, disgorging, and labeling, the house upholds Champagne’s excellence, the authenticity of its cuvées, and ensures complete traceability.
